Revealed : The Bigger Picture
The paintings, artists and inspiration behind our new-look website.
You’ve probably noticed the theme throughout our new-look website is quite…well… arty.
We’re really excited about our collaboration with talented UK artists, Paul Wright and Lisa Timmerman (wife of our founder, Paul) who allowed us to use their artwork to create our new and rather original brand look.
‘It was originally Warren’s idea,” Paul (Timmerman) explains. “I’m obviously a fan of my wife’s work, and I’ve admired Paul for years, but I’d never have thought of using their work like this.”
Warren had just started at Netdocs as our new Brand Creative and had seen some of Lisa and Paul’s paintings and been really impressed with them. To Warren, the art connection all made perfect sense.
“In my head it all fitted in so well with the brand we were developing, which was all about transformation. Paul and Lisa’s work was about transformation too – the way they adapt and use their brushes, palette knives and paints to create something amazing. I really wanted to use their powerful, expressive styles to reflect the idea of creativity helping to transform businesses.”
“The artwork helps us get away from using clichéd imagery and communicate that we’re different.”
Warren took photographs of twelve paintings from both artists and focused in on close-ups to reveal the details of the paint. He then projected real-life business scenarios over the art, so the brush strokes look like they’re flowing through the people. “It represents the creativity that flows through our team” he says.
Lisa is delighted with the artistic collaboration; “I think the way Warren has taken what we’ve done and created something new is so interesting.” she says. “I know I speak for Paul [Wright] too when I say we’re really pleased with the end result.”
